IAH International Animal Health D-Scour Paste 30g
D-Scour is a concentrated multi-strain probiotic with garlic extract as an aid in the treatment & control of scour in animals.
Each gram contains 180 million CFU as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus delbreuckii subspecies bulgaricus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifiodobacterium bifidum, Enterococcus faecium, Streptococcus salivarius subspecies thermophilus, and 20mg Garlic extract (Allium sativum).
D-Scour has been formulated to control scours through the combined action of selected natural live micro-organisms (probiotics) complemented by a natural yet powerful antimicrobial (garlic). The combination is synergistic for a number of reasons, including the fact that the antimicrobial portion does not affect the probiotics, yet both components attack the micro-organisms which cause scouring without effecting the beneficial bacteria within the animal's gut. This is particularly important when treating animals with enteric disease caused by E.coli, Rotavirus or Candida spp, and microbially mediated diseases of the urogenital tract, where for example Candida albicans is implicated. Garlic has been used for thousands of years for its nutritional and medicinal properties, but it has only been in recent times that the manufacturing process have been developed to protect and stabilise its important antimicrobial active, alliin. Another major plus for this product is that it does not contain any chemical or antibiotic components, simply ingredients derived by mother nature. In contrast, antibiotics used to treat scours act by destroying target pathogens, but at the same time they also destroy beneficial digestive bacteria.
